Big time donors helped propel Mike Allen and Don Scott to fundraising wins in the last provincial election.

Records with Elections Alberta show Allen outspent incumbent Guy Boutilier with more than 72 thousand dollars compared to just over 58 thousand.

In Fort McMurray-Conklin, it wasn’t even close.

Scott spent more than 110 thousand dollars while Doug Faulkner only spent 21 thousand.

Some of the donors who gave the Tory candidates the two-thousand dollar maximum included Suncor, Casman President Jeff Fitzner, the Kirschner Family Corporation, and Keyano College board chair John Wilson.

Other donors to Allen and Scott included Mac Island COO Tim Reid, chamber of commerce president Nick Sanders, councillors Christine Burton and Dave Kirschner, Northstar Ford owner Marty Giles, catholic trustee Tracy McKinnon, and Phoenix Heli-Flight.
