Mayor Melissa Blake isn’t happy with a new pro-oilsands campaign.
The new website EthicalOil.org has an advertisement that features a picture of Blake next to a picture of a woman being stoned to death.
The intent is to draw a parallel between what the site calls “conflict oil” countries with a bad record on women’s rights; and Canada’s oil sands, where a woman has been elected mayor.
But Blake said on Twitter that she was never asked about using her picture for the campaign – and that she’s “not at all pleased about it.”
She added that she “cringes” when she sees the advertisement.
