Boutilier still asking why Hwy 63 not twinned

The region’s former MLA is speaking up about the twinning of highway 63. Former Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo MLA Guy Boutilier is asking the provincial government to, in his words, treat Fort McMurray like Grande Prairie.

According to the Edmonton Journal, Boutilier is asking why highway 43 near Grande Prairie was twinned quickly, saying the former MLA for that region was a key factor in the project, because he was named transportation minister following the 1997 election.

He says that the only other thing that could be a difference between the two northern communities is that Grande Prairie is in a trade corridor.
