The Fort McMurray Business Revitalization Zone is no more.
Downtown businesses have voted 92 percent in favour of discontinuing the BRZ. It was formed in 1988 to help beautify, reviltalize, and maintain businesses in the lower townsite. It’s been inactive since 2007.
With the discontinuation of the current BRZ, efforts for a vibrant downtown community will be provided under the Municipal Development Plan and City Centre Action Plan.
