The American radio show Democracy Now aired an interview with environmentalists at the ongoing climate change talks in Durban, South Africa, who are trying to convince international delegates to oppose the industry.

“It doesn’t make any sense — they’re actually using coal-fired power plants to get out the tar sands oil,” she added.

However, University of Alberta professor Andrew Leach confirms that there are in fact no coal-fired power plants in the oil sands.
