City donates fire truck to Grassland

The city is hoping to make emergency response a little easier down in Grassland.

Regional Emergency Services is donating a new water tanker trunk to the Grassland Volunteer Fire Department.

That’s the department that responds to fires and accidents on Highway 63 up to fifty kilometres north of Wandering River, as well as south on Highway 55.

But there are no fire hydrants in the area, so a tanker trunk is a must-have.

The truck being donated was replaced by a new unit last September.
