CMHC: RMWB starts jump 17% in May

Fort McMurray just keeps on growing, and it can be seen in the amount of houses started last month.

The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation says May saw 63 houses started.

That’s almost a 17% increase compared to last years 54.

last month, the province alone saw a 24% jump.

So far this year, the region has seen 295 houses started compared to last years 185 – that’s a jump of nearly 60%.

On a whole, the province saw a hike of over 6%, and the country saw an increase of about 14%.
