Municipal council has given the green light to a new community centre in Eagle Ridge. Five million dollars will be spent in the 2012 budget in partnership with Alberta Infrastructure to build the facility.
Mayor Melissa Blake says facilities like this could make a big difference with the upcoming 2015 Western Canada Summer Games, which are being held here in Wood Buffalo.
The new centre will be built between the two new schools being built in the neighbourhood.
