Demonstrators arrested while protesting Keystone XL pipeline

As many as 65 people were arrested while protesting the Keystone XL pipeline this past weekend. The pipeline will carry crude from Hardesty, Alberta to the US Gulf Coast to be refined.

US President Barack Obama was on vacation with his family in Martha’s Vineyard during the protest.

The protesters were arrested in front of the White House by US Park Police and SWAT officers when they didn’t respond to requestes to move from the sidewalk.
