Drug and alcohol offences dominate traffic police shift

Several drivers are facing charges, mostly for drug and alcohol offences.

The Wood Buffalo Integrated Traffic Unit spent an overnight shift patrolling and setting up check stops along Highway 63 last Friday.

“For one shift to find four impaired drivers and four other drivers who were issued suspensions for 24 hours for drug and alcohol in their systems, it was pretty busy for sure,” says Sherriff Collin DiPasquale.

The unit also arrested two people with outstanding warrants. Six drivers allegedly had open alcohol in their vehicles.
