Dwayne “D-bomb” Lewis has two titanium plates and a few screws in his jaw after taking a punch from Tim Hague.

Official “Big” Jon McCarthy stopped the main event fight at Prestige FC on Friday at the Casman Centre. Hague’s punch broke the jaw of the local Bowmans Martial Arts fighter.

“I tried my best to regroup and continue fighting but was hard with my jaw hanging. While we clinched against the cage I spit a tooth out and tried to just hold on [until] I could regain my bearings, but when a 290 lbs man has his arms around you and you just stand there, there’s a good chance he’s gonna put ya on your back, and he did,” writes Lewis in a statement on Facebook yesterday.

A doctor entered the decagon after the fight was stopped. After checking on Lewis two paramedics walked into the cage and medical staff, Lewis and his corner made their way to the locker room before McCarthy announced the winner. Lewis is now recovering from surgery.

“Lots of swelling but little pain. My body [may] break but my heart will never shatter! Once again congrats Tim, you definitely owe me a beer!” he writes.

In the semi-final match, Mike Kent lost by submission to Cody Krahn and the local fighter announced his retirement afterwards.
