The Calgary Chamber of Commerce got their say in The Economist.
The magazine had written a piece on the oil sands calling them “tar sands” and “dirty business.” Chief Economist with the Commerce, Ben Brunnen, says he wrote a letter last week to clarify some of the terms used in the article, and that letter has been posted.
He says by posting the letter, The Economist shows that it is listening, and the Chamber has valid concerns.
He says he is getting a little tired of coming to the defence of the oil sands, but recognizes it has to be done.
