ERCB predicts 1.35 billion barrels from oil sands

The Energy Resources Conservation Board is predicting oil sands production will rise to 1.35 billion barrels per year by early next decade.

The ERCB’s latest report also shows that bitumen production in the oil sands went up 8 percent from 2010 to 2011; rising to 637 million barrels for the year.

It also reported a seven percent jump in conventional oil production; it’s the first time since 1995 that that number has gone up.
