Don’t be surprised if Kyle Harrietha knocks on your door this weekend.

The Fort McMurray – Cold Lake Liberal candidate is starting his campaign.

“Really looking forward to getting out and meeting McMurrayites, it’s going to be a beautiful weekend and I’m going to be spending it going door to door through the beautiful neighbourhoods of Fort McMurray,” said Harrietha.

Harrietha ran the most successful Liberal campaign in the riding since 1968 during the 2014 byelection, winning the polls in Fort McMurray but losing out thanks to the southern polls in the riding voting with the Conservatives.

He doesn’t think that Conservative MP David Yurdiga is a strong enough voice for the region as he spent 12 minutes talking in the house of commons and spoke to one bill, for an urban park in Toronto.

“The Conservative MP’s time spent speaking in the house speaks to the fact that this community is not only, not being heard, but no one is speaking on behalf of this community in the House of Commons,” said Harrietha. “The focuses I have will continue to be what they were during the last byelection which is infrastructure investment in this community, meaningful infrastructure investment and health care.”

Harrietha is the General Manager of McMurray Metis Local 1935.

The federal election will be held on Oct. 19, 2015.
