The Conservative government says that the New Democratic Party is siding with what they call job-killing extremists, according to the Vancouver Sun. That comes after the peaceful protests on Parliament Hill yesterday, which included several arrests.

The protests in Ottawa are to echo the ones held in Washington DC last month, which speak out against the proposed Keystone XL pipeline extension.

A University of Calgary professor believes the provincial government has made a big mistake by not speaking out against the concerns of protesters. Dr. Frank Atkins of the Economics Department says the protesting groups, including Greenpeace, are off target in their attacks of the Keystone project. He says that any celebrities involved in the protests aren’t really environmentally motivated, either.
