In the next week, Ottawa will decide whether or not to approve the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline that would connect Alberta’s oilsands to the BC coast.
The deadline for an answer is the 17th.
In December, a federal review panel recommended ok’ing the project.
An Enbridge spokesperson says even if the project gets the green light, there’s still over 200 conditions to be met, more than half of them before construction can even start.
He says the federal approval is just a step in the process and a lot more work has to be done.
