Investigators are still trying to find out what caused a house fire in Abasand. Regional Emergency Services was called at about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday about a basement fire.
The fire department says everyone inside managed to evacuate safely and there were no injuries.
Deputy Chief Brad Grainger says they were quick to get on scene at 636-261 Abasand Dr. He says they extinguished the blaze in about 15 minutes. Most of the damage was smoke related and contained to the basement.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. The Fire Prenvention Branch will be back on scene to continue the investigation later today.
