Local PC candidates are getting support from firefighters.

The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 2494 is endorsing PC candidates Mike Allen and Donald Scott for the upcoming provincial election.

“These men and women represent the best of what it means to serve the public, putting themselves in danger to help others,” said Scott, the PC candidate for Fort McMurray – Conklin.

Scott is in a tight race with Wildrose Party leader Brian Jean.

A new Mainstreet technologies poll has Jean leading Scott by 11 per cent among decided voters you can read that story here.

“The Fort McMurray Firefighter’s Association is proud to announce our support for Don Scott and Mike Allen for the Fort McMurray-Conklin and Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo constituencies. Don and Mike have been long-time supporters since they were members of municipal council,” said Nick Waddington, President.

Mike Allen, is up against Tany Yao for the Wildrose and the NDP’s Stephen Drover in Fort McMurray – Wood Buffalo.

“The brave men and women of our local IAFF are committed members of our community who know what it means to be a public servant,” Allen said. “I am proud to have their ongoing support in this election as we work together to continue great work for the residents of Fort McMurray – Wood Buffalo.”
