First the Country Fair got canned, now another major community event is biting the Big Spirit dust.

The Boys and Girls Club says it doesn’t look like it’ll be able to hold its Chateau Boo haunted house at Dunvegan Gardens this fall.

It’ll hold a smaller event at the Club itself instead.

Chateau Boo was an extremely important fundraiser for the organization.

The cancellation comes after the endless complaints by some Draper-area residents about Dunvegan being used for events caused the city to enforce obscure zoning rules differently.

By getting the municipality to decide the fair required a development permit (which it never had before), it was effectively killed because Dunvegan isn’t zoned to allow for those permits.

The municipality says additional information caused it to make that decision – but it never said what that additional information was.
