The annual Syncrude Wood Buffalo Food Bank Drive is this weekend with the Corporate Challenge running all day Thursday.
From Friday through Sunday volunteers will be stationed across the city including Wal Mart, Sobeys downtown and Thickwood locations, SaveOn Thickwood, downtown and Stoney Creek locations, Superstore, Family Foods, Extra Foods, and SafeWay downtown, to collect your donations in hopes of surpassing the goal of raising $360,000 and 75,000 pounds of food.
Country 93.3 and Rock 97.9 are proud partners of the drive which works every year to help ensure no family in our region goes hungry.
This year the need has increased by more than 70 per cent in Wood Buffalo with more families than ever before turning to the food bank for assistance to make ends meet in difficult times.
You can still volunteer to help in the drive throughout the weekend.
All donations are appreciated.
If you can’t make it this weekend you can always donate directly to the Food Bank or find the drop box for non-perishable food items at the Peter Pond Mall up until December 28.
