The Wood Buffalo Food Bank is trying to reach the public to help fill its empty shelves.
Country 93.3 and Rock 97.9 are collecting donations in support of the food bank. They’ll be at tthe main concourse of MacDonald Island Park this weekend. People can drop off non-perishable food items before they walk into the door of the Fall Trade Show.
The food bank says its had a dramatic increase in demand throughout the year, but donation’s haven’t kept up. An urgent call to the public was made last week.
The following items are on their needs list:
- -Canned meat/fish-canned vegetables
-Condensed soups
-tomato sauce
-pasta
-size 5 and 6 diapers
– alphaghetti
-ravioli
-condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo)
-canned tomatoes
-school snacks
-beans in tomato sauce
