Fort McMurray among 4 cities bidding for junior hockey Western Canada Cup in 2015

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons could be bringing western Canada’s championship junior hockey tournament to town.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League has announced that four of its teams are bidding for the 2015 tournament when the province gets its turn.

Competing with Fort McMurray are Brooks, Grande Prairie, and Lloydminster.

The tournament will pit the host team against the champions of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and B.C.’s leagues.

The winner will go to the RBC Cup national championship.

This coming season, the WCC will be in Dauphin, Manitoba.
