Fort McMurray is set to become a major gateway for satellite broadband coverage in Canada.
Xplornet Communications says they’ve just finish a satellite 4G ground station near the city. The ground station will be a hub for broadband technology for Canadians living in rural areas.
Xplornet is only a few days away from launching their first satellite, Viasat-1, which is ready to go on October 19th. They’re also planning to launch a second satellite, Jupiter, in the second quarter of next year.
