The Fort McMurray SPCA wants to remind you that animals don’t have a voice.

The fourth annual Animal Abuse Prevention Day in Wood Buffalo is on Thursday, Apr. 23.

“If a person has concerns with regards to the way an animal is being treated to certainly report that,” says Tara Clarke, the SPCA’s executive director. “The SPCA also works to educate children and youth, and works in terms of preventative programming.”

The SPCA held its annual awareness walk on Sunday with about 200 supporters and their furry friends.

“Unfortunately animal abuse is happening in our community, I certainly believe that we’ve managed to raise awareness,” says Clarke.
