Funeral held for pilot killed in Sunday night plane crash

One of the two people killed when two planes collided on Sunday was laid to rest yesterday in Edmonton.

The CBC reports that McMurray Aviation flight instructor Nabeel Chaudhry’s funeral was held at the Al-Rashid mosque.

According to the article the 33-year-old was in the Pakistani air force before moving to Canada.

His student, 32-year-old Fort McMurrayite Amjed Ahmed was also killed in the crash.

The pilot and lone occupant of the other plane was able to return to Fort McMurray safely.

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
