Gateway pipeline making Enbridge a major lobbyist

As Enbridge tries to build support for its Northern Gateway oil sands pipeline, it’s becoming one of the biggest lobbyists in the country.
The registry of federal lobbyists shows that reps from the Calgary company have had dozens of meetings with everyone from the Prime Minister’s chief of staff to ministers and deputy ministers.
But former B.C. MLA Roger Harris says the company didn’t spend much time lobbying politicians or the public in B.C.; and that might be why the project is suffering now.
Public hearings on the line start up again next month.
