With the support of his brothers, a local firefighter is continuing his battle with Cancer.

Bo Cooper has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia for the third time in five years.

The 26 year old has been a member of the Fort McMurray Fire Department since 2009 and after twice being successfully treated and putting the cancer in remission, he must fight the battle one more time.

Cooper received the news in October that the leukemia had returned. He was sent to Calgary and is currently undergoing treatment with an experimental drug called Blinatumomab.

The hope was for Cooper to be in full remission within 24-50 days so he could receive another bone marrow transplant, however doctors are now recommending he go to the USA to undergo treatment with more promising experimental Car T Cell drugs.

The cost of the treatment is upwards to $500,000.

Cooper’s family and friends have started a gofundme page in the hope’s of raising some of that money. In just the first day, the page has already raised nearly $42,000.

Cooper is recently married and is also an amateur MMA fighter.
