In light of the mandatory evacuation by the RMWB of Gregoire, the Fort McMurray Public School District has decided to close both the Greely Road and Fort McMurray Islamic School on Monday, May. 1, 2016.
“Student and staff safety is paramount for us. With the recent state of local emergency declared for Gregorie, and in consultation with the Municipality we have taken the decision to close both schools. We will keep the community updated through our website, and social media portals,” said Doug Nicholls, Superintendent, Fort McMurray Public School District, in a press release.
School staff are asked to report to the District Office Monday for further instructions.
All other school will be open and under normal operation.
