Green Day back on tour in 2013

Uno, Dos, Tres, Go! Green Day Back On The Road, Billie Joe Armstrong Thanks Fans For Support

Things are finally starting to look up in the Green Day camp, with news of a 2013 tour suggesting that singer Billie Joe Armstrong is on the road to recovery. Armstrong suffered a highly-publicised onstage meltdown last year and the band were forced to cancel their touring schedule whilst he went to rehab for substance abuse issues.

In a statement released by the singer on Monday (December 31, 2012), he thanked fans for their support, saying “I just want to thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown for the past few months. Believe me, it hasn’t gone unnoticed and I’m eternally grateful to have such an amazing set of friends and family. I’m getting better every day. So now, without further ado, the show must go on.” The rescheduled tour is due to start on March 28, 2013 at the Allstate Arena in Chicago and the band added a message to their fans saying “We want to thank everyone for hanging in with us for the last few months. We are very excited to hit the road and see all of you again, though we regret having to cancel more shows.”

A previously scheduled date at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland (January 30, 2013) has been cancelled. Refunds will be available for that show.
