Greenpeace planning massive oilsands protest in B.C.

Oilsands critics say they’re organizing the biggest civil disobedience on the climate change issue that the country has ever seen.

Greenpeace Canada says it’s holding a sit-in protest on October 22nd in front of the BC legislature to protest the proposed Northern Gateway oil sands pipeline to the west coast.

Though it says it’ll be the biggest ever, all it can claim so far is that 80 First Nations, environmental, and labour leaders are coming.

The idea is based on the sit-ins in Washington, D.C. last year that environmentalists claim helped convince U.S. President Obama to reject the Keystone XL pipeline.
