It saddens me very much when a lovely, family, community event is cancelled due to the complaints of a very small number of community members. Not only that, these same community members are jeopardizing a family owned business that has been in the community for many years…a company who has supported our community and community organizations in numerous ways. Dunvegan Gardens has done this through providing services (many times at no charge), donations to and for various organizations, events and functions. I can no longer be quiet, this is ridiculous what the RMWB and the community of Draper is trying to do!! It infuriates me that now they also have the ability to shut down an event that has also been a large part of our community for many years. The Country Fair committee has worked for months on this event FOR THE GOOD OF THE COMMUNITY not to benefit themselves but to give the residents of Fort McMurray a time to exhibit and share their talents and skills with the rest of the city. RMWB and those who have caused this, you should be ashamed of yourself!!!
I totally agree with you. And unfortunately, there is threats of lawsuits to anyone who mentions the name of the one who has started all of this crap. Must be a pretty sad life to be hated so much by your community that you have to barb wire your property. His children must have a great life. (insert eye roll) I’m very surprised that he is allowing the corn Maze to go ahead. Who will he sue if all of us just show up with our kids to play at their park that weekend…Hey I’m even thinking about tail gait BBqing. I guess when you don’t have to pay legal fees, you can bully anyone you want with threats. SHAME ON YOU, And SHAME ON THE MUNICIPALITY FOR ALLOWING THIS TO HAPPEN. Sorry your life sux so bad you have to try and take happiness away from others. Get a Life.
