The Town of Athabasca is a vibrant Alberta community with a population of 2990 just 150 km north of Edmonton on the banks of the historic Athabasca River. Athabasca serves as the Hub for the region and a gate way to the north. The Town offers sports, cultural and recreational facilities that are not normally found in a community this size such as a multiplex, performing arts theatre, indoor swimming pool and cross country ski trails. The area also offers a wide range of sporting and recreational opportunities.
The Town of Athabasca is presently seeking a qualified individual to join the Outside Services Team in the position of Outside Services Superintendant. The Superintendant reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible and accountable for the safe, effective and efficient operation of Public Works, Utilities and parks / open spaces. This function is highly visible and requires excellent public relations skills and sensitivity to the needs of the public and elected officials. This position must operate within Town policies, procedures, budgets and government regulations.
