Construction on Hardin Street is set to be complete by day’s end Friday, July 31, according to the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
All lanes would then re-open to all traffic after months of work on the downtown street.
While work was also set to be completed on MacDonald Avenue that roadway is scheduled to remain closed to all but local traffic for the duration of the Western Canada Summer Games.
The games are expected to draw as many as 14,000 visitors to Fort McMurray.
