Harper tells Washington: Canada will branch out to sell oil

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has told Washington that Canada is focusing its attention elsewhere when it comes to selling oil.

Harper told the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington yesterday that Canada must branch out to other markets besides the U-S.

Harper also made clear that Americans are going to have to pay more for Canadian petroleum resources.

US President Barack Obama has refused to greenlight the Keystone XL Pipeline that would carry Alberta crude to Gulf Coast refineries.
