Heart Awards Committee announce 2016 winners

The Heart Awards Committee has announced its 2016 winners. The Heart Awards recognize outstanding achievement in the non-profit sector. Although they can’t be in the community to celebrate this year, the committee still wanted to give recognition to these individuals.

The Winners:

Board Leadership – Paul McWilliams

This award recognizes exemplary leadership at the non-profit board level.

Community Impact – Fort Chip Animal Rescue Society

This award recognizes the impact a non-profit organization has made in the broader community, resulting in clear and measurable change

Executive Leadership – Chantal Beaver

This award recognizes exemplary leadership at the nonprofit senior leader level

Newcomer Engagement – Suma Jose

This award recognizes significant contributions to the community including financial contributions, volunteer support and in-kind services targeted at helping one or more non-profit community organizations achieve greater sustainability.

Social Prosperity – Alan Roberts

This award recognizes significant contributions to the community including financial contributions, volunteer support and in-kind services targeted at helping one or more non-profit community organizations achieve greater sustainability.

Volunteerism – Aiman Naeem

This award celebrates people who invest in their communities and inspire others through their outstanding volunteer work.

“We wanted to announce the winners and appreciate all of these exemplary leaders who contribute in amazing ways to make Fort McMurray the best place in the world to call home, during this difficult time celebrating these remarkable individuals has even more meaning,” said Bonnah Carey, Chief Social Entrepreneur at FuseSocial and a member of the Heart Awards Committee.

The awards will be handed out to the individuals once residents are able to return to Fort McMurray.
