The Higher Health Clinic is paying it forward. It donated $13,000 to the Northern Lights Health Foundation today in support of women’s health in Wood Buffalo. The money will help fund an expansion and upgrades to the Maternal Child Unit of the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre.

“We’re so thankful to Higher Health for their kind-hearted gift in support of women’s health in our region,” said Susanne Chaffey, Executive Director in a press release. “Their support will make an incredible difference in the lives of families welcoming new little ones into our community.”

The Maternal Child Unit is being expanded into the former space occupied by Home Care in the Health Centre. Renovations will be made to the waiting room, creating a new space for Wood Buffalo’s birthing families.

All renovations will begin later this year.
