At least two people were injured this morning, after a crash on the road to site.

Wood Buffalo RCMP say the two-vehicle accident happened at about 5:45 a.m. today on Canterra Road. Initial reports from dispatch says two drivers were injured when one vehicle rear-ended another.

Another person on location said three people were transferred from the scene on stretchers. He said security explained the three were going to be airlifted to the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray.

The vehicles were both driving northbound at about the 45 kilometre mark of Canterra Road. The scene of the crash is near the Husky Sunrise site and is about an hour and half north of the city.

At about 7 a.m. police were still making their way to the scene.
