Wildrose Leader Brian Jean is ahead of the pack in a local riding. Mainstreet Technologies says Jean has 43 per cent support among decided voters, compared to Minister Don Scott’s 32 per cent support.

“Right now, Scott is surprisingly competitive. All that being said, Brian Jean will continue to headline provincial media, this is really coming down to a race of two strong local personalities,” states David Valentin, Vice-President of Mainstreet Technologies.

The NDP’s Ariana Mancini has 18 per cent support, and Liberal Melinda Hollis has 7 per cent support. All of those numbers take a dip when also counting voters who haven’t made up their mind yet.

“This was a close race in 2012 decided by just over 400 votes. If Fort McMurray-Conklin has the same turnout as 2012 that is essentially the lead we are looking at. 8% is roughly 426 votes,” stated Valentin.

The poll surveyed 343 people in the Fort McMurray-Conklin riding. It has a a margin of error of +/- 5.21, 19 times out of 20.
