Job's Minister Thomas Lukaszuk running for Premier

The province’s job minister says he’s running as the third candidate in the race to be Premier.

Today, MLA Thomas Lukaszuk resigned his cabinet position and announced he wants to lead the PC party.

He even met with interim Premier Dave Hancock before making the announcment.

He’s up against former federal cabinet minister Jim Prentice and former provincial infrastructure minister Ric McIver.

Lukaszuk says one of the top issues is restoring trust with the public following the spending scandals of former Premier Alison Redford.

There’s 9 days left for candidates to submit paperwork and payup a $50-thousand nomination fee.

The PC Party will vote in September.
