New poll numbers suggest the Progressive Conservative and Wildrose parties are in a statistical dead heat.

The Leger Marketing poll for the Calgary Herald shows Danielle Smith’s Wildrose ahead with 36 percent support, but Alison Redford’s Tories are only two points back at 34 percent.

Ian Large with Leger says voters are starting to responding to the parties’ policy platforms.

“As the campaign’s started to heat up and we’re starting to get a very clear picture of how the party platforms look, I think voters are now starting to pay more attention and starting to consider their vote,” said Large.

The poll suggests that PC promises on health care and education are resonating better than the Wildrose’s proposed energy dividend.
