Lofthouse commits to University of Regina Cougars

The University of Regina Cougars are getting a big bodied power forward next season. Trent Lofthouse who joined the Oil Barons at the beginning of the season out of the Western Hockey League has committed to play for the school for the upcoming CIS season.

A 6-foot-3, 185 pound winger he finished third in team scoring last season with 39 points including 18 goals in 43 games. He also had four points in five games at the 2015 Western Canada Cup.

“The Oil Barons are a professional organization and helped me take the next step toward prolonging my hockey career and achieving my educational goals,” said Lofthouse in a press release. “I was treated very well and had a great experience playing in Fort McMurray.”

Lofthouse spent three years in the Western Hockey League splitting his time between the Everett Silvertips and the Vancouver Giants.
