A major benefit concert is being planned in support of Fort McMurray and its residents affected by the wildfire.
A press conference will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton to announce details for the Fire Aid concert.
It is not yet known who will play or which venue will host the concert.
Organizers of the event consist of volunteers from across the province.
Residents have been out of their homes since being evacuated May 3 and are scheduled to return during a voluntary re-entry phase beginning June 1.
As of Tuesday, the wildfire had grown to 522,895 hectares in size and continued to burn in both Alberta and Saskatchewan.
