Mounties are pulling in more resources to help investigate a murder in Gregoire. Last week, autopsy results confirmed a 25-year-old man was killed at his 288 Grandview Crescent mobile home.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit at “K” Division headquarters in Edmonton are at the site.

“There are some members up here assisting our Serious Crime Unit,” says Cpl. George Cameron. “I don’t have the numbers but I know there are a lot of members investigating this as we speak as this is a priority.”

The Fort McMurray Fire Department is also getting help from Edmonton. Fire investigators are helping sift through the rubble in a long process that was already delayed by cold temperatures.

“There’s so much stuff that they have to go through. [It’s] very, very time consuming. I would be very surprised if we found out the cause by the end of this week. It might even be longer,” said Cpl. Cameron.

Police have been on scene since the initial call to the home.
