A 62 year old man was killed at MEG Energy’s Christina Lake project this morning.
Occupational Health and Safety says it happened at about 8:15 AM when a steam line ruptured and hit him in the leg.
He was taken to hospital in Lac La Biche but died from the severe bleeding.
The SAG-D project is about 60 kilometres south of the city.
OHS is currently investigating and has put a stop work order on the area where the steam line ruptured.
