Man sentenced to one-year in jail for stealing Brad Jacobs' Olympic ring

The man who stole from an Olympic champion is going to jail for a year.

A judge sentence Terrell Cardinal after he plead guilty last week to stealing Brad Jacobs’ Olympic ring.

The Canadian curler was in Boyle for a charity golf tournament when the 23-year-old entered his motel room and stole several items. Local police say that after they sent out a news release, the tips on the case came pouring in.

Cardinal was convicted of two counts of break and enter. He was also ordered to pay a $200 victim surcharge.

A 22-year-old was also charged in connection to the incident. The ring was returned to Jacobs.
