Hurricane Maria is maintaining her strength as she takes aim at southeastern Newfoundland.
Maria is centred over the Atlantic 800-kilometres southwest of Cape Race, and headed northeast with winds of 130-kilometres an hour.
It’s also dumping up to 90 millimetres of rain. Forecasters say the storm’s eye will likely make landfall this afternoon on the Avalon Peninsula.
