The RMWB is looking over what the mayor and Chief Administrative Officer billed to taxpayers this year.
Documents for tonight’s Audit and Budget Committee show Mayor Melissa Blake spent $4,611.20 on travel expenses between Jan. 1 and Oct. 31 this year. She also spent $9,053.11 on travel and registration for a conference last month.
Her public relations budget totaled $5,005.62. That budget is made for luncheons for business and networking, public promotional items and business meetings with ministers or executive staff, the Community Leaders Reception and Seniors Tea. With about a month and a half left until the New Year, she still has almost $16,000 of her total budget that hasn’t been spent.
In June, the committee passed a resolution for the offices of the mayor and CAO to submit monthly expense updates for the committee to review. The move came after former CAO Glen Laubenstein resigned and came under fire for his expenses.
Marcel Ulliac spent $12,333.18 of the budget since he was appointed Interim CAO in May. He’s allowed to expense $25,000 for the year. The annual budget, tracks business travel, conference and registration travel and public relations.
