Mar. 3, 15 will now be known as “3 Day” in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB).
Mayor Melissa Blake made the proclamation at 3:33 p.m., today in support of 3 Things for Wood Buffalo.
“I’m excited about ‘3 day’ and encourage all residents to get out there and do three things to make our community even better,” said Blake. “Simple acts like buying a coffee for a friend, donating to charity or volunteering your time are great ways to make a positive difference.”
3 Things for Wood Buffalo is a movement with a simple message – do three things to make the community a better place. These things don’t have to be big – they can be as simple as holding a door open for someone, voting in the upcoming by-election or even giving a thank-you wave in traffic.
Residents are encouraged to wear purple (the official colour of 3 Things for Wood Buffalo) and to share their actions (as well as the actions of others) through conversation and on social media using the hashtag #MY3WB.
