After a few months of being in operation the new expansion at the Casman Centre was officially opened today with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The expansion includes a new kitchen and canteen, a pottery studio and a large multi-purpose room.

Mayor Melissa Blake helped cut the ribbon on one of the most used facilities in Wood Buffalo, “This excellent facility is not only home to the Oil Barons, but hosts thousands of residents of all ages each year as they pursue their favourite activities.”

“This expansion enhances everyone’s experience at the Casman centre, whether you’re attending an Oil Barons game, whether attending a concert or a community event the Casman Centre is a modern welcoming facility that meets everyone’s needs,” said Dave Fitzgerald, President, Northern Alberta Athletic Association.

The multi-purpose room can be booked for private events, contact the Oil Barons office for more information. The expansion was completed earlier this spring in time for the 2015 Western Canada Cup hosted by the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.
