The federal government’s junior finance minister says he’s getting a lot of negative feedback about the proposed takeover of Nexen.
Chinese company CNOOC made a 15.1 billion dollar bid for the oil company months ago, but Ted Menzies says both constituents and his fellow MPs are interested in whether the federal government OKs it.
Menzies is an Alberta MP, but still says most people he talks to are concerned about the takeover.
Industry Canada is reviewing the deal.
